Eduard Lehmann

Eduard Lehmann, born in 1861, was an entrepreneur and man of independent means. After school, he completed a merchant's apprenticeship, then sold fish on the Baltic Sea, and eventually moved to Berlin to produce and sell bicycles. This made him prosperous, and he began building many houses in and around Berlin.

His love of travel and interest in perfume took him to Arabia and eventually to the South of France, where he learned the art of perfumery. In the 1920s, he returned to Berlin with the idea of opening his own perfumery.

Harry Lehmann

Harry Lehmann, born on October 11, 1898, was Eduard Lehmann's son. From the beginning, he was enthusiastic about his father's idea.

At that time, perfumeries in Germany and particularly in Berlin were not yet as common as they were in France. The idea of offering customers a touch of luxury through beautiful fragrances while pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors appealed to Harry Lehmann, who was only 27 years old at the time.

In March 1926, the idea became reality and the first store of the family business opened its doors. Harry Lehmann led the company from 1926 until his death in 1967, shaping it alongside his employees over many decades.

Edith Lehmann

Edith Lehmann, known as "Christel," initially started working in the family business as a sales assistant. Harry Lehmann and Edith Lehmann eventually married and had two sons. After Harry Lehmann's death, she continued the business with equally great passion and devotion. Mrs. Lehmann died in 2008, after which her son Lutz Lehmann assumed sole leadership of the family business and continued it until his own death in May 2022.

Lutz Lehmann

Lutz Lehmann, born on August 3, 1951, was the youngest son of Harry and Edith Lehmann. From childhood, he supported his parents and later his mother in the store at Kantstr. 106. He learned the art of perfumery early on and was just as passionate about travel and joyful in life as his grandfather. He incorporated his impressions and memories into ever-new fragrance creations, as well as the spirit of each respective decade, which is reflected in his compositions. His customers experienced Lutz Lehmann as a friendly and approachable person and appreciated the quality of his carefully composed fragrances. In May 2022, Lutz Lehmann passed away after a brief illness. With his death, the long history of a special family business ended abruptly. The doors at Kantstraße 106 remained closed for the time being.

Jutta Dallmann

Jutta Dallmann, born in 1940, plays a special role in HARRY LEHMANN's long history. She has worked at the perfumery since 1958 and still advises customers in the store several times a week to this day. She knows the fragrances, tells anecdotes, and experienced the development of the fragrance range and the city. With this knowledge, she bridges the past and present as a contemporary witness.
